INTERIOR NOW
Loved discovering the work of Orsani Daventure this month. The studio has the right amount of weird and surprising which is unusual to come across in these homogenised design times, very welcome.

INTERIOR DESIGN
Villa Colluci in Puglia has some beautiful and unique design takeaways to add a permanant holiday feel to your abode ( note a little rattan goes a long way).
The bold bathrooms are a highlight as are the textiles. There are some beautifully painted ceilings which work perfectly with the villa’s architecture too.
All photos are from the Villa Colluci website, you can also follow them here
INTERIORS NOW
I think I have featured Marine Bonnefoy before, this protruding hexagonal sink, still makes my heart sing. She delivers a masterclass in colour in the same Invalides project and I felt that this room deserved an encore.
The tone of yellow with the pink table choice and tan chairs is top notch, then add a forest green piano and a Hans Kögl floor light and TA DA! you have some magic … more on Hans Kogl below.

INTERIOR THEN
Really enjoyed discovered The Penton kitchen and its designer Norman Potter via toeristmodernist . Potter sounds like an interesting character. He was an English cabinetmaker, designer, poet, and teacher. In the Second World War, and immediately afterwards, he acquired the skills of cabinetmaking and life-long anarchist beliefs. His book, What is a designer: things, places, messages looks like it could be a valuable read if a book by a cabinet making anarchist sounds up your street.

INTERIOR & ARCHITECTURE THEN
I’ve posted about Josef Frank’s textiles many a time but it was lovely to come across a villa of his that I hadn’t seen before, Villa Carlsten, via one of my favourite designers LuLu Lafortune ( check out her design work here)
Svenskttenn have an article about the villa. I also enjoyed re-discovering some lovely imagery of Frank’s furniture and drawings on a site dedicated to the villa, villacarlsten.se
The D house’s above are Part of Frank’s fantasy project of a dream estate. You can read more about them here
‘Everything was on the verge of being kitsch and therefore went beyond the limit of what was considered to be “good taste”. You could say that back in the 1940s, Josef Frank predicted the postmodernism and eclecticism of the 60 and 70s. Beyond criticising the monotonous architecture, his ambition was to formulate a strategy to move away from conformity to the soulful,” says Mikael.’
OBJECT NOW
A few items caught my eye this month so heres a small selection below,
The Petra hardware street numbers by Reinoud Oudshoorn
…and this wonderful furniture collaboration for a show called Comfort Zone, bringing together the work of Beci Orpin and Dustin Fritsche of Softer Studios. (FYI Beci is renovating and shares lots of behind the scenes of her space on Instagram, I’ve taken many a screenshot for my own inspiration bank.)
OBJECT THEN
Hans Kögl
As someone who is slowly coming round to florals I’ve really been getting into the motif in vintage lighting lately. Perhaps its the use of harder more masculine materials with feminine forms.
Kogl’s work falls into the Hollywood regency glam vibes ( not really super IN right now) so there are some bargains to be had. Marine Bonnefoy has proved above that alongside contemporary pieces and items from other era’s these pieces can really work.
Hans Kögl Brass Lamp XL Sunburst Wall Lamp
A Couple of Hans Kögl Sunflower Table Lamps
OBJECT THEN
My new obsession, this Sink by George Sakier from 1933 via carefully picked
If you like this but are after something new and have a sizable budget I recommend a look at Water Monopoly’s Rockwell range
OBJECT THEN
I fell in love with this Gilbert Rhode desk for Herman Miller that belonged to the icon David lynch ( just in case you need a reason to love it more)
You can see more items from Lynch’s collections here, The auction goes live tomorrow!
