INTERIOR & ARCHITECTURE THEN

George Nakashima

My interior tastes are certainly eclectic, and how i'm going to weave my love of Pomo, early modernism, mid century, chintz and a peaceful Japanese aesthetic into my own home is anyone's guess. This week I looked towards the honest materials, craftsmanship and calming spaces of George Nakashima for inspiration. The bathroom in his cabin proves that calm doesn't mean characterless. Embedded within the penny tiles are the name's of the designer’s grandchildren.

INTERIOR & ARCHITECTURE THEN

Farleys house

As its unlikely I will be going abroad anytime soon my list of places to visit on home turf has been steadily growing. A recent addition has been Farleys house , home to Lee Miller and Roland Penrose and filled to the rafters with colour and surrealist art.

Another place that has been on the list forever and remains unvisited is the Homeward in Esher, an image of the Homeward's beautiful bar can be seen in this months 'Instagram account to follow' below ...
